Small Footprint, Elevated Impact: A Thoughtfully Designed Luxury Pool House in Greenwich

This pool house project in Greenwich, Connecticut involved the innovative redesign and construction of a pool house for existing clients. We renovated the main home’s interiors and two years later our clients asked us to assemble a team to build a new pool house and address the failing pool and building structure. Tasked with using the existing foundation and adhering to a strict size limit of 193 square feet, we aimed to create a spacious and functional space. Together, we transformed an abandoned pool house into a stunning addition that seamlessly complements the existing home’s architecture.

Despite the size constraints, the pool house features a 13-foot interior ceiling, which significantly enhances the sense of openness. We meticulously planned the layout to include essential amenities such as a bathroom, a full kitchen, HVAC, and washer and dryer. This optimization of space ensures that the pool house is as functional as it is aesthetically pleasing.

The exterior design integrates shiplap siding, open sliding doors, and a café-style open window with a bar and seating area, providing a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. An outdoor shower adds convenience, while the patio area has been significantly expanded to accommodate chaise lounge seating, dining, and additional seating areas.

The pool itself, although unchanged in size, was completely rebuilt with a new pool color and coping, enhancing its visual appeal. The interiors are designed to exude a spa-like atmosphere, with monolithic porcelain heated floors for comfort and luxury. Custom oat cabinetry, a floating vanity with a large stone top, and a concrete sink basin add to the sophisticated and serene environment.
