Growing up in the South, I learned that the best gatherings happen outdoors, where the air is soft and conversations linger long after sunset. That sense of ease and connection is what we bring to every outdoor project at Clarity Home Interiors.

We design with real life in mind—sunrise swims, long lunches, sunset cocktails. Every choice, from the curve of a lounge chair to the texture of a stone countertop, supports both the everyday and the extraordinary. One of my most vivid memories is my 6th birthday party by the pool, a full luau theme with friends, music, and laughter echoing through the warm summer air.

When a space feels effortless—doors open, music drifting, guests laughing—that’s when we know we’ve succeeded.

Our signature? Bespoke furnishings, curated lighting, and premium finishes that create a personal, welcoming space. From built-in seating to natural stone counters that age beautifully, we design for function, beauty, and the memories that last. The furnishings we select and the color palettes in the fabrics tell a story—one that says, “Come on over and have some fun!”

What’s New in Exterior Design

We’re seeing more outdoor kitchens positioned right by the pool, pool houses that function as true extensions of the home, fireplaces with generous seating, expansive teak dining tables, and custom umbrellas. Some of our favorite brands include Janus et Cie, David Sutherland, Gloster, and Tucci Umbrellas—each chosen for their quality, style, and longevity.

Three Inspired Outdoor Retreats

Riverside Retreat
A custom pergola with ambient lighting and heaters, flexible zones for intimate dinners or celebrations for 100 to 10, a stone fireplace, poolside loungers, and an enclosed outdoor shower—all designed for seamless indoor-outdoor living. We completed the renovation on the family home and a few years later, the client contacted us to design the exterior space. 

Darien Minimalist Modern

Sleek architectural lines, glass doors, and a lap pool with glass fencing create a serene, modern escape. A screened pavilion with sculptural seating and a floating fireplace offers the perfect sunset gathering spot. The home sits on the marsh land of the Long Island Sound where the clients can kayak on the water, hop in the pool and shower off in the custom pool house bath. 

Rockwood Lane Pool House

Just 193 square feet reimagined for luxury living. 13-foot ceilings, a full kitchen and bath, café-style bar window, and heated floors make this compact retreat as stylish as it is functional. We worked with the clients on the construction of their new home which extended into the exteriors just a few years later.  I love staying with our families as new projects arise.
